What is Aviation Security
Aviation security, as defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is a comprehensive framework of measures and protocols aimed at safeguarding the safety and integrity of civil aviation operations worldwide.
ICAO’s approach to aviation security focuses on preventing acts of unlawful interference with civil aviation, such as terrorism, hijacking, and sabotage. This involves the development and implementation of robust security protocols at airports, on aircraft, and within the aviation industry.
What to expect at Bonriki International Airport
At an airport, travelers can expect a bustling environment filled with various activities and processes. Upon arrival, check-in counters wait for luggage drop-off and seat assignments. Security checkpoints follow, where passengers undergo screening procedures for safety.
First Time Travelers
If you are a first-time traveler and have not checked in online, you must go to the appropriate airline check-in desks.
Customs & Immigration Process
You must pass through customs and immigration after being screened before heading to the departure lounge to wait for your flight. On a regular basis, announcements will be made over the PA system informing passengers of the times and gates from which their flights will be departing. The passenger departure lounge also has flight information screens with the same data.
Unattended Baggage
Never leave your bags unattended, and alert security if you hear or see anything unusual. Keep a watchful eye and be ready for anything.
Powders, liquids, aerosols, and gels (PLAGs)
Powders, liquids, aerosols, and gels (PLAGs) must adhere to tight guidelines when being transported by passengers in cabin baggage.
Quantity Limitations
Powder cannot exceed 350 ml (the volume of a small can of soda) in the cabin luggage, while liquids, aerosols, and gels cannot exceed 100 ml. Failure to follow the requirements will result with confiscation of PLAGs.
